Product code: Antique Staffordshire pottery pigeon on sale on nest tureen pearlware circa 1850

Here is a very rare antique Staffordshire pottery pigeon tureen, probably from the mid 1800s Victorian period.

This beautiful Staffordshire pearlware tureen is in the shape of a fancy pigeon on dove sat on a nest, in off white with gold hand painted detail, oranges to beak and eyes. Top lid comes off as shown in the eighth photo, it is in good condition for its age but on sale does have faults and damage, with numerous small chips around inside edges I have tried to show the worse in the ninth photo (these can not be seen when the lid is sitting closed), there is also an hairline crack to the top pf the base which I have tried to show in the last photos although this is only visible on close inspection, some gold paint loss, crazing and small firing faults. Please see all the photos as they are a true representation of the condition. The wear is reflected in the very low price, a brilliant find for a collector.

Condition: Good AF (sold as seen, small chips to inner edges, hairline crack, normal wear)
Measures 8.5inches by 5inches, 6.5inches tall
