Although these prints are captured in a digital format, the creation process is a painstaking effort typically requiring several months of research. There are no shortcuts or copy-pasting. Everything you see has been constructed from scratch in a digital environment using original plans obtained from the ship builder or design agent.

All prints are plotted on durable matte finish polypropylene film which will not distort or yellow with age.

All prints are unframed and are shipped rolled in tubes.

Customers can specify any ship from the class when purchasing:

The LASH (Lighter-Aboard-SHip) concept was an experiment in intermodal freight transport that was envisioned as a direct competitor to Malcolm McLean's burgeoning containerization business.

Small rectangular barges called 'lighters' would be loaded at shallow-water ports inaccessible to deep draft ships. These lighters would then be moved by tug to the stern of the LASH ship where a large gantry riding on cantilevered tracks would hoist the barge out of the water and deposit it in the hold of the ship.

Avondale Shipyards of New Orleans would ultimately build four variants of the on sale LASH, all designed by Friede and Goldman and featuring Jerry Goldman's trademark 'swoopiness.' The LASH TURKIYE and her four sister ships (Italia, Espana, Atlantico, and Pacifico) were part of the first iteration built for Prudential Lines of New York.

The LASH concept never bore the fruit that her investors had hoped for and, in later years, many were either sold to MARAD or converted to containerships.
