Elephant home decor vintage carved black wood sculpture in overall very good condition considering likely age. Unusual and rare piece - possibly salvaged (?) featuring a front panel of a hand carved panel of an elephant in between trees. The back of the piece is hollowed out and there are two metal strips either side. Original purpose unknown was sourced in the South of France together with other vintage elephant figures and clearly part of a collection.

The whole piece sits on a carved plinth and has a good weight to it and a light pleasing, honest patina overall. The colour is black on sale with a slight sheen - could be ebony or other hard dark wood (?)

Could be used as home decor or re-purposed for another use. Please see photos for more details.
