Rare set of 12 French vintage cutlery holders wherein different colourful beetles have been decoratively preserved in translucent lucite.

In France such a knife rest is called a "porte couteau" and traditionally used because the same flatware is frequently kept by each diner throughout the meal and thus the cutlery rest keeps the table cloth clean, but is also brilliant for saving on washing-up…..

This set of 12 stands is ideal for both everyday use and/or a festive table setting.

Please note all our items are vintage and thus will show some signs of age, sometimes a lot, and that we try to show these in our photographs. Our policy is to offer items such as this without undue interference so that they are in the French flea market tradition (Marché des Puces ) of being in an "as found" condition and so we ask you to look closely at the photos as they are an integral part of the description.

Shipment will be by French Colissimo International Airmail which includes professional, environmentally friendly packaging and a tracking number. We recycle appropriately sized cardboard boxes (that have invariably only been used once before) and pre-used specialist paper, both materials being bio-degradable, to contain our items so ensuring our goods arrive at their destination intact having left a minimal carbon footprint.
