ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: While studying academic art, composition, and art history in Moscow, I felt a connection to the Art Nouveau Style as if whose shapes, proportions, and designs were pulled from the depths of my dreams, the dreams I couldn't quite remember or explain in words once awakened but could only feel the effects and impressions of. In this original drawing, I combined a realistic drawing of a House Finch with designs inspired by Art Nouveau to create a dream-like mystique about this bird and its home, El Refugio. Most of the time I sketch and paint the birds by just looking out of my windows where they come to our feeders, fountain, and trees. After the Palisades Fire in May of 2021, we had a sharp increase in the bird population. I had to purchase larger capacity bird feeders and a lot more bird food. All that doesn't come cheap. Thus, all the proceeds from sales of these drawings will benefit the wildlife as in purchases of bird food and providing and maintaining water supply and green trees for shelter. High-quality limited edition signed and numbered giclée prints on canvas are available in the same size as the original. Shipped in a box, you get to frame it in any way you like.
