The inspiration for this blanket came from a recent trip to Alaska. There is a yarn shop there called "The Hive". It's on the historic Creek Street, in Ketchican, Alaska. The yarn comes from an indie dyer called "Raven Frog Fibers" in Sitka, Alaska. So why call this a "Skagway" blanket? Well, I had a lovely day in Skagway, an historic port rich with a gold-mining history, and water and skies these lovely shades of blue. When the cruise went into Ketchikan, and I saw this yarn, I just had to buy it and weave with it, and the name just stuck. on sale
