This rare book takes me back to my Sunday School days.

Art Pictures from the Old Testament has a series of ninety illustrations from Noah building the Ark through Samson and the Lion to Shadrach, Meshach and Adebnego. It includes Sunday reading for the young. The original drawings were by Leighton, Burne-Jones, Poynter, Watts, Armytage, Madox Brown, Solomon and Holman Hunt. The Letterpress is by Aley Fox. Published by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge and printed by Young & Co of New York in 1894.

The hardcover has grey cloth boards with gilt titles. on sale It is a first edition.

The book is in good condition, the covers are a little bumped, the spine is good but there is some foxing mostly on the first few and last few pages but overall it is in fine fettle for the age considering it is way over 100 years old.

It would be a super addition to any collection, excellent display, practical piece or authentic period prop.
