Already as a child I loved to paint, draw
and handicrafts, but there were hardly any materials in the war
and post-war period. We didn't have art lessons at school.
Since 1979, when my children were already a bit more independent,
I have turned back to my interests and always
Attended training courses, e.g.
Courses in painting with the painter Emil Kritzky at various locations,
also painting trips
Courses at the Federal Academy for Cultural Education in Wolfenbüttel,
also at the European Academy in Bad Bevensen,
in the bildungszentrum Jagdschloss Göhrde with Helene Jahncke and
at the Village of Education in Street, England,
I also did the Funkkolleg KUNST.
In 1995 as a pensioner I joined the cultural association MALIMU (painting, literature, music)
, of which I am still a member today. Here I have so far all year -
and partly also half-yearly on sale exhibitions.
In 1999 I was elected 1st chairman of the association. I held this position until 2003, when I wanted to devote more time to my artistic activity.
During my time as 1st chairman we got involved with the association
OCTOART in Zwijndrecht, Holland. We have brought the Dutch to us.
and worked together with them here in Norderstedt made an exhibition.
The next year we were in Zwijndrecht and together with Octoart we have piles
, which were then placed in the park there. The exhibition was opened by the mayor.
Since about the year 2000 I have also been in the club twice a year weekend
courses offered in which I acquired knowledge that I myself had acquired in further training,

In 2010 I had a big solo exhibition in the gallery of the town hall in Norderstedt.
10 years ago, my son advised me to buy a computer, I had never worked with one before. He installed the program GIMP for me and showed me how to work with it. I tried everything possible and got better and better. As several club
members showed interest, but with the program not right
I gave an introductory course. This has resulted in a small working group. We participate in the MALIMU exhibitions and also make our own smaller exhibitions.
I am now severely restricted in movement and paint and collage almost exclusively on the computer.
